Cosette Alves no comando do MIS...



Depois de longo tempo fora do Brasil, morando nos EUA, a chic Cosette Alves voltou e foi eleita a nova presidente do conselho de administração do MIS (Museu da Imagem e do Som de São Paulo). A empresária aceitou o convite do secretário estadual de Cultura, Andrea Matarazzo.
Eleita por unanimidade, a antiga dona do Mappin... e muito mais: President of the Inter American Culture and Development Foundation. Invited by Mr. Luis Alberto Moreno, current president of the Inter-American Development Bank. Washington DC, USA; Member of the Board of Directors of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas. Invited by Mrs. Hilda Ochoa-Brillembourg, Chairman of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas. Washington DC, USA; Organized a project seeking the incorporation of a 7,491.87 m2 piece of land to Cinemateca, given by São Paulo's City Hall, aiming to obtain new revenue possibilities. She managed to get this project approved by the City Council that resulted in Law n. 14,008 signed by Mayor José Serra. São Paulo, Brazil; Member of Latin American Entrepreneurs Council (CEAL) - Conselho de Empresários da América Latina. São Paulo, Brasil; Founder member of Brazilian Cinema Academy. (Academia Brasileira de Cinema). Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; President of Sociedade Amigos da Cinemateca. Since March 27, 2004 she was elected member of the Cinemateca Brasileira’ Board. During her administration, she helped raising funds to build: the theater "Sala Cinemateca de Cinema"; the first Acclimatized Vault of Film & Video Masters in Brazil that preserves all the audiovisual collection belonging to Cinemateca Brasileira (with the vault 30,000 different titles and 100,000 reels were saved from deterioration); the Documentation & Research Center and the Paulo Emilio Salles Gomes Library, that keeps historical documents, film posters, original scripts and cinema related books. Made possible the ongoing project Cinematographic Census that collects, records and gives access to information about all the Brazilian cinematographic production from its beginning in 1898 until nowadays.
